red to gold

Recently I've been going back to one-colour nails. Two reasons really, 1) I have been a busy bee running here there and everywhere and 2) I thought keeping it simple for a couple of weeks would be refreshing as well as a welcomed break from all the experiments!

But then, I got distracted :D

I've had the last couple of days off work which has been really nice (have finally managed to catch up on sleep!) and while catching up on some of my favourite blogs, I stumbled on leblogdesushi's heart nails. INSPIRED. So off I went and did my own take on it - switching the ladylike red with a shiny shiny gold (I clearly can't get enough of it) and hey presto this was the result!

Off to get a little bit more cultured now, love London during the weekday - galleries are relatively calmer, cafés are buzzy but not impossible to get into and I actually get to explore this wonderful city in daylight (and SUN). Win!

sunset sunday

There's no Sunday like a Sunday filled with tea, afternoon walks and good chats and giggles with good friends. And as a bonus, London looked pretty great too. Hope you all have a good week ahead :)

Every time I meet up with friends with a plan in mind, food always manages to distract us. Alexander Fabulous and I coincidentally had a couple of days off work and wanted to take in some of London while it was relatively quiet during the week. We had good intentions but before we even made it to the river for our stroll, we got distracted by the cakes in the window of another great discovery - Absolutely Starving. We just wanted to eat everything in there and the vibe was really chilled. So definitely a venue worth another visit. But my Valentine's food adventure didn't end there... I was then spoilt by the loveliest couple in the world Alistair & Nicole who not only let me crash their evening but also put on the most amazing table arrangement (check it out below) complete with homemade cocktails and pizzas (caramalised onions and goats cheese, pancetta and mushrooms & pepperoni, rocket and parmesan) and two delicious salads. I am so lucky, but also SO SPOILT. :)

it's a structured life

H I G H E N D 2 H I G H S T R E E T // feat. Celine tote

alternatives for fashionistas on a budget

Yes, THAT tote. Structured never looked so good (and tempting) but alas not everyone can get their paws on one so I thought I would base this next post on another HighEnd2HighStreet with a spotlight on the structured Celine tote. Here, it is worn so elegantly by one of my favourite fashion bloggers Julie of Sincerely, Jules - I really think a structure bag can bring an outfit together, from casual every day to dinner out with the girls. So, on the hunt I went and below are my Top 5 structured totes / bags that are currently available on the high street for a bargain under £50!

Winged Pushlock Tote in Putty, £45 (Topshop)
Preppy Colour Block Bag, £35 (Accessorize)
Pushlock Crossbody Bag in Tomato, £35 (Topshop)
Hamptons Perspex Tote, £37 (Accessorize)
ASOS Padlock Metal Corner Satchel, £38 (ASOS)

frilly and silly

I love living in London. I say that to pretty much everyone I know and meet. However, sometimes I do get a craving for sun, sea and sand between my toes. So, I guess in my case you can take the girl out of the island but you can't take the island out of the girl!

Alas, the sun, sea and sand aren't an hour's drive away (I wish) so instead, I decided to bring a tropical, sunny feel to a crisp, blue skied London. With the help of some recent bargains - my new (and growing favourite) Authentic Slim Van Doren Red Hawaiian Vans and coral lace trim socks (Topshop) - I spent last weekend day dreaming about sunnier climes. Accompanied by good laughs and good company, I'm looking forward to some more sunny day dreaming. I wouldn't say no to real sunshine though... ;)

leather goods

Bonjour! Dag! Hello from Brussels!

Over weekend, I hopped onto the Eurostar with a few of my close girlfriends in order to visit our lovely Jess in Brussels. I love travelling and have to admit that the Eurostar is one of my favourite modes of transport - it is so easy and quick to get from one city to another without the hassle of airport waiting times. Though we only went for a weekend, we managed to fill our days with snow (I was so surprised noone fell over the whole trip!), lots of sight-seeing, eating, walking, drinking, lots of laughter and of course indulging in some of Belgium's finest treats - waffles and chocolates! All in all, a great little city break with some great friends - can't wait for the next little adventure... :)

wearing | leopard print wellies (Primark), leather studded waistcoat & tiger jumper (Topshop), stripped black dress (H&M), black shiny leggings (hand-me-down)
